Background
Amongst the Muslim community, the number of divorces is increasing at an alarming rate. Around 70% of these are initiated through the fasakh procedure, predominantly requested by the wife.
Common reasons include substance abuse, employment abroad, lack of clarity about family life, extended family interference, child marriages, fraudulent or forced marriages, moral misconduct, sexual incompatibility, and lack of mutual understanding.
These issues highlight the need to prepare men and women for successful marital relationships.
